Default Purchase question... 2004 yamaha Kodiak 400 or

buying a first atv for use on mountain trails and light work around the property. i am hoping some of you more familiar with these can provide your opinions pros/cons of the 3 i have narrowed down.

2004 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO 4x4

2005 Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 auto (note the 05 now has IRS)

2004 Arctic Cat 400 4x4 auto

I am more familiar with the AC and Yamaha but love what I've read about the Pol. Thanks for your help.

I can't really say anything bad about the first two. I don't care for the ergonomics of a Polaris but that differs with each rider. I love the feel of the Kodiac now that it has IRS. That was the best move Yamaha could have made with that bike. I would recommend staying away from Arctic Cat. They have a horrible rap for being undependable and it is well earned. The artic cats I have worked on showed themselves to be pretty shotty machines when compared to their big brand name cousins. Arctic Cat uses square tubing frames rather than round. Square tubing is much weaker and more likely to bend. Their suspension is also very lacking. That's my $0.02.
