okay guys i have a 230 quadsport i got for free and put about 400 bucks into it and it needs piston and rings should i fix that or sell for 600 bucks and find a honda 300ex?? whats your input?? i love the 'sport but i dont know which would be better..

 

The EX will be a better bike in just about any situation, and it is still being made. It will be much easier to find replacement parts and performance upgrades for it. However, sounds like you really are getting off pretty cheap with the Zuk. I had one and rode it for years. It was a good machine that gave me many hours of enjoyment. Personally, if I had the $$, I would go with the Honda though.

 

230QSRIDER, Where are you from?? If your near me I'd take that 230 off your hands, no problem!
I live in NY. I love the quadsports fun machines no matter what & how old.
But Scooter86 is right about the 300ex being current & parts availability. But I don't look at things that way, I tend to look at what machine I'd prefer, that suits my style of interest.
I'm lookin for some machines for my boys right now, and the 230 would be a good starter
as well as for me to mess around on as well. Some people see luxury as a must have & some see luxury as a can do without. Me, I don't care how old the machine is, if it peeks my interest than
it's a worth while investment to me. You just gotta decide what kinda person you are thats all.

if all your 230 needs is a new piston i would stick with it for the money.you can get a new piston kit from weisco for around 70 dollars.

 

ive ridden both and ill stick to my 300ex anyday, the suspension travel on the 230 is like 2 inches, the frame geometry is better, handling is better, suspensioni is better. i promise, id say this even if i owned an lt230. even though it was pretty fun to ride, i still like my 300ex better....
