Do you guys use a cretian type of anti-freeze or is there a certian type i should use?

ps if you go to your local gm dealership they have coolant system sealent tabs, smash one tab and put it in there, it will help the aluminum from corosion " i think i spelled that right" plus is will stop any leaks in the gasket.

 

Right on! I used those GM seal tabs for as long as I owned my DS. You wont get any better for a radiator sealer and it wont plug up the whole cooling system either.

 

If you ride the dunes you might look into Purple Ice Coolant, it will reduce your engine temps drastically.

 

I use Engine Ice.

 

Engine ice for me too. It seems to help the temps a bit. It also comes pre-mixed 50/50.

I run engine ice as well, it works great. The coolant in the DS is normal 'car' anti freeze, nothing special. Just be sure it is Ethelyene Glycol and labeled to be OK for aluminum radiators. The engine ice just helps keep the engine a little cooler - meaning the fan comes on less etc.
