Default Two questions....

First one, i jetted my ds last year, when i put one the modified end, with a 195. The bike never seemed to run hot. I finally took it out last night after a while of sitting, and it seemed to keep the fan running pretty good. The outside temp was approximately 90 with humidity about 100. Should i rejet? or is there something else i shoud do to make it run a bit cooler?

Second. When riding, the bike seems to really vibrate the footpegs really bad at around 4500 and up? anyone else have this problem? it really tickles the crap out of my feet, and at times almost makes it unbearable. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks for the help,

Kenny

When I had my DS one day I noticed that the motor was vibrating excessively and I checked things out. I found out ALL of my motor mounts were loose and after they were re-tightened it was fine. Hope this helps.

195 does seem way big if it's stock with an end cap. I have the same thing and my main is one size smaller (162.5) than stock.

Kenny.

how have you been man? good to see you back!

On the vibration, I would do what these guys have said and double check all of your motor mounts(especailly the top one, if you still have it). Your quad always runs good with the 195(dynojet) in thier, so I would make sure that your air/fuel screw hasnt moved on you with all that vibration. Also if its been awhile since you ran the DS, you might want to take a look at the thermostat, and make sure it is not corroded. Did you ever get any radiator shrouds?

Kyle,
I havent been posting much for i am trying to get in a new house. I never thought of the motor mounts, but will check them first thing tomorrow. How do i check the thermostat? or better yet, where is it...LOL The jetting seemed to be spot on for there is absolutely no dead spots (which you should now, you rode it) so it just seemed odd that it would keep the fan running. The temp light has never come on, and it is full of coolant. We are still planning on a trip to LS before it gets too late, so I still hope to meet up with you guys.

Thanx for the help guys, i really do appreciate it. I will check those mounts first thing tomorrow.

Kenny

Im perty sure my fan would run all the time too that is a lot of humidity and that makes for some very thick air. Real hard to remove heat from them alum fins with that kind of air going across them. Still better to be safe and make sure your red light comes on when the key switch turns on. If it does then your prolly fine. When the temps and humidity comes down your fan will be normal again. Your thermostat is where your radiator hose goes into your head. thier are 2 liitle allen screws that you remove to get to it(very simple). Also dont forget to double check your AIR/FUEL mixture screw. It should be about 3 turns out maybe 3 1/4.

Hope to do alot of riding this Fall!

P.S. congrats on the new house!!

think eaglecollector might have had a point. When riding today, and the fan only came on once and that was after and hour straight hard riding.

My screw is still where you had me set Kyle, which i believe was 2 and 3/4 out. Should i try 3 and 1/4?

I still need to get my hands on some paddle tires so i can come up and play...
