Default Rincon, Brute Force, or wait for King Quad 700?

I am looking for a long term ATV that will rack up some serious miles, and have very few repair issues. I ride in WV so except for sand, I have every condition that you can think of. I want a large bore 4X4 because I will be carrying camping gear and my girl will be on the back, so I need lots of power.

2005 Rincon- There are some issues about overheating, and some people hate the tranny, some say its way underpowered for a 650, some people hate the 3 wheel drive system. I love Hondas, and I think they build a great machine, but I dont want to sacrifice everything just because its a Honda, so its tough to be brand loyal.

2005 Brute Force- Has plenty of power, but from mag reviews the thing isnt that fun to ride as far as handling goes. No idea on Long Term reliability, and not many people own one yet, so its hard to know how many kinks this thing has in it and what kind of problems will arise.

2005 King Quad 700- Looks excellent on paper, but all do when nobody has ridden them. I owned a King Quad 500 a few years ago and had a few small problems, but overall it was a great machine. I do not like Suzuki parts prices, they are the highest....so if a man needed parts down the road it would kill the wallet.

I guess when I pay over $6000 for an ATV it needs to be perfect, and a few hundred $$ wont sway me over one machine or the other just because its cheaper.

Weigh in and tell me what you think, it all helps.

http://rincon.atvowners.com is where I have been reading for a week on the Rincon. All the flaws come out on forums like that, which I love, but also with a great forum like that, if something goes wrong you have an answer in no time and lots of info to research and help yourself.

If you are going to be riding with a skirt, maybe look at a 2-up. But the Arctic Cat only comes with a 500 and it sounds like you might want something bigger.

Maybe look at the Polaris 700 EFI too, although I don't know much about those and wouldn't get one myself, but to each his own.

Maybe look at the Arctic Cat 650 V2 or the 650 Hemi if you want to haul a lot of gear. They have the most rack capacity, ground clearance, and suspension travel. Plus you can get the MRP racks and they have special ones just for camping that can carry just about everything. They will also have the diff-locker. This would be a good rig if you do a lot of hunting and snow plowing too. Do they have snow in West Virginia? Oh, for repairs Arctic Cat also has a 2 year warantee, but between my year old ATV and my dad's 2000 Cat 500 they have never seen the shop.

The Rincon might be the best if you plan to do more trail riding and such, but they don't come with a diff-locker. I really like the looks of them.

I know nothing of the Brute Force or King Quad so I will let someone else comment on those.

The main thing would be to ride them all and find what you like the best! Good luck and let us know what you pick!

Default Rincon, Brute Force, or wait for King Quad 700?

Having just bought a new Rincon GPS scape yesterday, and logging about 5 hrs on it today, I can say this is one great machine. It has Honda quality throughout. I spent many hours looking and researching, and it came down to the BF, AC650LE(can't get the 2005's yet), and the Kingquad(can't get em yet). I did not even consider the Rincon because of all of the negatives I have heard. As it turned out in a strange twist of fate, I ended up buying the Rincon(with hesitation and grimace I might add).
I could not be happier than I am with the Rinny, it does everything well, and I think most other big machines would have bucked me off today when I took the Rinny through a long stretch of single track whoops and banks. Had the front end of the Rinny up a lot of the time and bounding from whoop to whoop. I cannot imagine these others doing as well except maybe the Kingquad.
It goes up as steep of hills other 4x4s go up with no problem, and the brakes work fine, and I see no need for a low range with the way the funky transmission works. I made the right choice for the kind of riding I do, and am so glad I did not get the AC. The BF or Kingquad I would still consider though.
Hope this helps, I do not think you would go wrong with the Rinny, but you could probably say that about the other two as well.
If you are into rock crawling and technical riding the BF probably is a better choice, but if you just want to hit the trail a blazin' and come out with a big smile on your face after blasting through the rough stuff with ease, then get the Rinny.

Pilgrim4life,
If you dont mind, please post again after you have put another 15 hours or so that would be great, I love to read real world reviews, it helps those of us that are looking to buy.

Also you had me totally confused by saying "after logging 5 hours" around here that means that you haul logs off of mountains for 5 hours.. LOL After reading that statement, I thought to myself that he has some weird way of breaking in a new ATV.. LOL

Thanks for the detailed and honest review!!

Nope, the only log the thing was haulin was me!!!
I doubt my opinion will change much about the Rinny, I put it through it's paces in as many situations as I could find. I know the biggest complaint is the limited slip on the front, but that is fixable if I need to do it.

On a related note. Are the King Quad and Brute Force built on the same chassis? They weigh within 2 pounds of each other and look very similar. With all the sharing between them it wouldnt surprise me.

If only the engines and cosmetics are differant I would go with the King Quad with EFI or the Rincon. I like the transmission on the Rincon but a fuel injected 700 would be tough to beat. If the reviews of the Brute Force translate to the King Quad I would go with the Rincon...

I have herd that they did share the chassis on the two, but the motors and the cosmetics are different.

I would realy like to know were the BF and KQ are being built, if that were the same plant then I would be very convenced that they are on the same chassis just different motors and plastic, that rear suspension looks to me to be exactly the same.

has anyone else noticed that the BF has the exaust on the left and a container monted on the right where the KQ exaust is mounted.
I am thinking that is verey similar to the V-force setup where you can remove the container and install a duel set of pipes. ????
