Belt smoked today

I orderd the black spring,When I have it put in should I have the shims taken out as well?Sorry to bother you guys with all this but it may save me from having to go back into it.Thanks alot.

Belt smoked today

Probably,it seems most a/c 650s left the dealer with a loose belt.I took out the thin shim and that got me into specs.
