Restoring '85 250sx
#1
has anyone ever done a complete restoration on a 250sx? if so, how hard was it to remove all the wiring, motor, and all the brackets and other assorted parts? and, has anyone ever rebuilt the top end on their 250sx? how hard was it to remove the camshaft, timing chain, and remove the piston? i am getting ready to resto-mod my '85 250sx. i am gonna port the head and put a 300 big bore kit in. any help would definitely be appreciated. thanx in advance.

Another question is WHY????? It is a near 400 pound 3 wheeler (wet weight) and shaft drive. Are you going to use it for pulling, or do you want to race with it? All the stuff you mentioned is pretty easy to do; all of the books lay it out step by step and the pictures are pretty good. You may want to check your local library if you don't want to buy one.. Our library had 4 books on 3 wheelers.

i found the 300 big bore from powroll.com. they still have a few left on their shelves. and i want to do this just to be different. i don't like having what the next guy has. plus, with a little more power, it will do even better wheelies through fifth gear. its a great wheelie bike, especially with the 22" kenda klaw tires on it.and 2 person wheelies are really fun!
