Default West Michigan sand nationals, First timed runs in sand

Myself and a friend went to check out the West Michigan Sand drag nationals this weekend. I went thru the test and tune on Friday night, but kept having some chain issues with the new plus 8 swingarm. My friend with his Raptor was having ignition problems. (kept hitting rev limiter without hitting the rpm) . Since the test and tune went unbelievably slow, we didnt get a chance to work it out. We decided to hit the park instead on saturday. Got the bugs worked out with the chain, but it was too late to go back to enter the races.

The best time I ran wa a 5.25. After fixing the setup, I think 5.1 would be about all I could get out of it. I had the front end a little to low for the height of the rear end when I ran that time. But after fixing it at the park, the launch was much smoother without bogging the motor down. We will find out a the next race.

As for the races, holy cow. I wouldnt believe it, if I hadnt seen it with my own eyes. A 3 wheel setup with a street bike motor ran 3.1?? at 101 mph. Unbelieveable!! The racing action was great, and I will definately go back for the next one.

I was at the park on Sunday, you guys most have left, because I didn't see you. I saw a few things At Silver LAke that looked like they were at the sand drags. Sorry you guys has issues, but sounds like you had a good time anyway. Get some picks up with that new +8 swingarm

Hey Wayne,

We didnt go back on Sunday. Steve's Raptor developed some engine trouble. Lots of noise coming from the cases. I think its just the timing chain, but we didnt feel like tearing it down at the park. So, we left early. Sorry we missed you,

Gary
