i am thinking about buying a blaster pretty soon and i was wondering if it is very good in the sand dunes stock or would you have to modify it a lot to get around good. My friend let me ride his and i liked it we rode in the woods and it ran great and had plenty of power to get up some very steep hills but they were dirt not sand will they get up steep sand hills and will it bog down the motor with sand tires on it just riding it in just a flat sandy area.
Any info will help.

On sandy flats, the ***** might actually do better than the paddles. My buddy thought that way with his 400EX, and I couldn't wind out 6th gear with paddles. The paddles won't really bog it down though, except maybe 6th gear, at least with me. They'll help more. I was able to make it up some good sized dunes, as long as I was in like 4th gear wound out. It's way different then, say, a 250 2 stroke, but they go ok. As for the steep hills, it depends how long they are whether you will make it or not

The Yamaha Blaster is a pretty good quad for it's size and price. It is fun and "snappy", but it is limited by the 200cc 2-stroke motor. Stock tires (knobbies) and a stock machine will get you up some pretty impressive dunes, but some simple mods can improve it ALOT... pipe, etc.
