400ex vs 350 raptor?

The 400ex is faster. If you are looking at a 400 cc class sport quad, the Suzuki Z400 is better than either of these machines and they have done some nice upgrades to it in 05. I would definitely look into that machine. A friend of mine has one and loves it. Ive ridden the Z400, own the 400ex, and have owned a warrior. I would choose the Z400 out of the three. Good luck.

Right on, the Z400 is such a sweet ride. My next quad will be a Z for sure.
However price wise, the 400ex and Raptor350 are somewhat more affordable. You can pick up a nice 400ex for around 3k. You won't find a used Raptor yet but you might find a z400 used. If money is an issue the Warrior can be had dirt cheap for a real nice one.
That's how I ended up with one.

well the only reason you can get a 400ex for cheaper then the z400 is beacuse you can get the 400ex in a 99 model and a z400 in a 03 model
i would pick the 400ex in your deciosion unless you really need reverse a 400ex will stomp a warrior/raptor350

The problem isn't top speed with those two....it's that the 400ex loses power due to heat......the Zuki is liquid cooled, which results in much less power loss as the engines warm up...stock for stock they are very close, but the heat in the 400ex engine will reduce it's power noticeably.

i own both so no bs here i live in tennessee so we dont really have as hot as days as a lot of people so we dont really worry about heat and in a 1000 ft. drag the z400 will win but dont get me wrong the ex will be right there it aint gonna walk off and leave it or anything the acceleration on both are very good i enjoy riding both. i ride the ex and my dad rides the z400 there both really good quads. if you live where it gets real hot then you have to worry about the heat. but here in tennessee i have rode the ex on a 6 hour straight ride and it never lost any noticble power at all. but that might be a factor at like glamis or sumthin and oh yeah after 6 hours you have one soar butt on a sport quad on the trails!!!!
