I find plenty of torq even with my 15/40 gearing .. it's not a punchy as when i got my 12/42 on, but still pretty good.
12/41 should be plenty of torque .. with 12/40 I could lift the front in 4th with only modest effort.

I just dropped from 15/40 to 13/40, but I didn't notice that I was having any torque problems with the 15/40. I changed to stock for a couple reasons. I ride mostly woods and trails and never need to do 65-70mph (which is a guess at top speed with a 15/40 set up). A Warrior with the stock 13/40 gears will do 55-58.
But I can't imagine why the gearing would have an effect on your torque, it should still be there no matter the gearing. The only thing that should change is the top speed, the acceleration and which gear you use for certain things.
An example is hills I needed 1st gear with 15/40 I can now climb in 2nd with 13/40.
Are you lacking torque compared to what you used to have?

The gearing doesn't change the actual torque. It's more a torque multiplier type setting, and enhances the application of the engine's turning force.
A Warrior with stock gearing will easily go over 60 unless uphill against a wind with a heavy rider. 15/40 with the appropriate engine mods (i.e. 435cc kit or such) will go over 70, but it takes some ***** in the engine work to get that fast ...

you probably arent nopticing alot of torque because once you hit the gas with that 12 on the front its already at peak RPM. go up a few teeth and see what you find. i got a 15 tooth front and its working sweet for me right now.

I have 15/40 with my stock chain. I was going to go with 15/42 because I thought that 15/40 would just be too tall, but with the 42T my chain was just a touch too short. I'd say with some presuasion your 15/41 combo would work. Besides, front sprockets are cheep even here .. like $10 each
When I redo my bearings I'll be stepping back to my 12/42 setup, and back into my jetting experiments.
