Default HPD questions.

I was looking around HPD's site earlier. I noticed the Power Maxxx kit is only for concentric drive models. Mine is a '97 Sport without the concentric drive. Why does this kit not work with non-concentric models? If I can't get that, I was looking at the Race Mod package. Can you still trail ride with this package? Is the package reliable? I don't want to be out in the middle of nowhere and have breakdowns all the time. Okay, last question, I promise, Is the stock tranny able to handle that much extra horsepower without becoming a ticking time bomb?

Thanks for all answers given.
Jeff

I don't know much about the powermaxx, but i have been running the race mod for several years,it is very reliable. You can trail ride it with no problems.I have never gone into the tranny and mine is a 96 model.I even added alky and the tranny is still running smooth. The race mod is a good way to go for the money.

Yes, the race mod is actually a very fun trail ride. Lots of power to have fun with. You can detune the clutching to work great in the trails. The tranny's hold up real well in these bikes.

umm,the 2x4 tranny is almost bullet proof,i never had a bad luck with it,
the real problem as far starting to mod is the vibration and excess heat,
wich must be corrected by harder motor mounts and high flow
tranny cover (remove plastic cap).
HPD have done an amazing job with the race mod kit,i never heard a single
2 stroke run that smooth and crisp.you'll have to run an heavy duty
o-ring chain tough.
beleive me,the race kit is trouble frees.
