Default Rancher shuts off when water touchs bottom

When I take my 2003 Rancher into a body of water as soon as the water level touches the bottom of the ATV it shuts off. It is the weirdest thing I have seen! Anyone have ideas what it could be???

Thanks in advance!

well look under there. are there any exposed wires or anything that stand out like that?

thats probably the problem. you could have a loose connection that runs along the bottom of the ATV or a loose ground wire. go over your connections and make sure none of them are loose or if you have an exposed wire.
