Default ASA Meeting in San Diego - go if you are local!

Here is an email I just got from the ASA, this sounds like a good meeting to go to if you are local, they are going to have an actual scientist there to talk about the PMV (the weed that is responsible for most of the closures at Glamis) and where the studies on that are going. It also sounds like the BLM plans to crack down on alcohol, (to be discussed at the meeting) so a lot of you had better find out what changes are happening at Glamis as the alcohol thing will affect some people.

"Dear Fellow Dune Enthusiast,

--BLM Director's SSSS visit

Greg indicates that the BLM National Law Enforcement staff may be in attendance to discuss the BLM "Alcohol Initiative" implementation plans.

Dr. Art Phillips, III PhD., the ASA biologist responsible for PMV studies, will give a presentation on the PMV and where we are headed in that arena.

Also on the agenda are various items including:

As you can see, it won't be a boring meeting and many of your questions can be answered at this meeting. Your comments, ideas, questions, and suggestions are welcome at the meeting.

Many that attend are usually surprised and impressed with how we've grown, the number of irons in the fire, and the influence we possess - not to mention the fantastic working relationships we have formed with ORBA and SDORC.

We urge all to attend that can - it is a real eye-opener. Who knows, you may even see an ideal opportunity where you can help to keep our dunes open.
