Default IceFishing ATV

Hey everyone!

First off I'd like to say thanks for all the info that's provided on the site. I've been reading for a few weeks now. You all seem knowledgable and willing to lend a helping hand. With that said, I need a little help here in making a decision.

Manufacturers obviously haven't built the perfect ATV, yet many boast their product as being the best on the market. Then I read about the problems the "best" ATVs have. Whether they be lemons from the start or poor by design. It's frustrating to say the least and I'm beggining to feeling like a dumba$$ for not pulling the trigger yet. LOL

So far, I've looked at Yamaha and Arctic Cat, read about Honda. I'm looking at models 500cc or greater with the exception of the Kodiak. I'm 6'5" 230, pulling a trailer with a ton of gear, shanties possibly and other people. The bike's gonna be used primarily for ice fishing. Trail riding (in NE IL, trails are hard to come by) and plowing suburban driveways are possible in the near future.

I'm hoping for some feedback from you diehards on what models I should be leaning towards and why.

Thank you for your time and reading

The nice thing about the Arcitic Cat is you can get it with the MRP racks, they even make a special one for ice fishing that has a built in ice house. Works great from what I hear. Go to a dealer and check it out, and be sure to ride the ATV's to find out what works best for you. All of the new ones will work great though. Good luck!
