my Scrammy blew another base gasket same place as before clutch side of the jug.it has comantic gasket kit in it now. any other suggestions why this could be happening???I re-torque by the way I read from the forum

Check the clutch side corner for a crack,look at my pic's.Once you remove the jug look very good at the inside at that corner as well.

If it is cracked ,no.You would have to buy another set of cases.You can get brand new cases with bearings and seals for around $280 from Rick Ritter.

 

This dosen't have anything do do with your problem Hawleywood but Rick told me to install the base gasket with the coated side down toward the case. He said he thinks it works better this way because of the case halves. Thats the way I installed mine with no problems yet.

 

I blew a head gasket with a aftermarket gasket. Then I was told to go only with OEM gaskets. I know yours is a base gasket blowing out but it could still be the case.

What brand does everyone else use for gaskets? OEM gaskets are pricey.

 

Cometic for the base.OEM for the rest.

 

Not sure, I just used the gaskets that Rick sent me.
