I have a 2004 500 sportsman and when i try to turn my 4-wheeler off it will not shut off using the key, i actually have to turn my headlight on to shut the bike off. is this a common problem or is just mine. i have had it in for service, they tell me there is nothing wrong but that does not satisfy me, it still does it and it eventually runs my battery down. anyone have a solution??

I think it is a problem with yours.
Cause i have one and my friend has one both which have no problems turning off with the key.

I have the same thing, but with the red cutoff switch. If it is off, no electrical functions work like the fan, lights, or starter, but the engine continues to run. I have to turn the key off. It happend when i hit the black box on the left bar hard with my knee lol. Just gotta be careful because if mine is off, my fan wont kick in if needed, so i always make sure to check its on RUN.
Does yuors shut off with the red cutoff switch?
