Hi, I am looking at buying a new or slighty used artic cat (F series or sabar cat) poliras pro or edge X and a ski doo. if any one can point me in a directionj of forums and anything to watch for would be great, any pic's? I want asled that I start and go all my buddies have pro mod sleds and they are always working on them. thanks

Look for a something with a warantee. Watch out for "low miles" sleds, as a lot of people just unhook the speedo and beat the crap out of their sleds, so it will appear that they haven't been riden much. Firecats are wickedly fast, and they offer a two year warantee witch is nice. They did have problmes with them at first but seem to be pretty good now. Polaris's are not as fast as the others, and are in bad need of an update, which some did get for '05. So if you are a Polaris guy I wouldn't get one unless it is the new style. Otherwise in 1 -2 years it is going to look really outdated. Ski-Doo's are good machines too, the REV is an aquired taste, ride one before you buy one to make sure it is for you. Oh, if you are interested in a 4-stroke look at the Yamaha RX-1. It is a pretty good sled but heavy. Arctic Cat also make a 4-stroke, the T-660, it actually has a turbo charger but once again it is heavy.

In all, I would go with the Firecat (F7) but I may be biased, they are the fastest that is for sure. Any new sled you buy will last you a long long time if you take care of it. Good luck!

Not sure if you care, but I live in VT and I have a '98 Mach Z 800 R (reverse). It's a true low mileage sled and it runs perfect....still on the same plugs from 2 or 3 seasons ago. I'm asking $2000 for it which is like 1/2 of what it books for. Just figured I'd mention it to ya.

I live in sullivan county NY, That does not sound like a bad deal but you live a little bit from me. I rode the rev for 9 hr straight and I loved it, but the look has not grown on me.
