After seeing the CT Sonic win the Dirtwheels shootout, I decided to go with it on my 03 Raptor. When I ordered I asked specific questions, either this guy was an idiot or lying but he told me that I would get jets for the airbox lid off (NO only lid on or full airbox removal). He said that it was all allens to remove the core (NO some rivets which suck). Then he gave me a delivery date but it showed up 8 days late. When I recieved it I took it to a dealer to make sure everything was done right and the head pipe did not have the right bend, it took another week to get a new one. I will say I am happy with the power gained, but it is not up to 50+ hp like they advertise, and after one 70+ mile ride there is heat wear at almost every connection. I will never go with a second tier company again, its all FMF, Pro Circuit and White Brothers from here. Spread the word that CT RACING SUCKS!!!

 

I was getting a CT also, but the drawback for me was repacking about every 30 hrs of riding or so. I decided to go with Curtis Sparks & I smiling all day long. Thanks for the information, because I thought that I should of gone with CT, because of the shootout!!!!

 

CT has horriable customer service and will tell you anything just to make a sale.

 

Yea CT does have horrible customer service, had a friend that bought a set for his banshee and had nothing but problems with them. CT wouldnt do jack they blamed the welds breaking on him riding the bike too hard. I've learned my lesson with HMF also and would not but or recommend them to anyone either.

 

Good to know...I'll make sure all my buddies are aware. It's always good to be warned of something like this before you have to deal with it yourself...thanks! I guess management doesn't realize how important their customer service is...because of your unsatisfactory service, they lost countless potential buyers.

 

What happened with hmf?

 

My Bill Ballance slip on leaks like crazy where it bolts to the stock head pipe. Long story short I was told that the head pipe is metric sizing and their slip on piping is standard measurement so they said its going to leak. I wish I had been told that it would leak. Ive checked numerous Yoshi, FMF, Pro Circuit, and a couple other slip ons and they dont leak. I may be one of only a few that has had problems but Ive went out of my way to correct the problem and they havent. I tried red rtv and it didnt work. We tightened the clamp down so far it dimpled the pipe and made it leak worse. I went to the extent of spending another $45 for a new mid pipe and new clamps and it fit worse than the first mid pipe did. It was about 3/4" longer so I had to cram it that much further up on the slip on. I was told to cut more slits in the mid pipe so that it would clamp tighter did that and it still leaked. The new mid pipe leaks where the slits are in the mid pipe. I called and left numerous messages because no one would answer the phone. I was called back once and whomever I spoke with said they would call back and did not. Then another fellow posted on the HMF forum to call him by then I was tired of getting the run around and told him I didnt know what I could tell him on the phone that hadnt already been posted on the forum. And requested in 2 posts if he had any suggestions for me that I hadnt already tried. They came highly recommended for their customer service, but not by me at this point. If things ever get resolved I might change my tune but not until then. I have yet to find and exhaust company that treats their customers as well as Toomey Racing. I had a tiny pin hole in a weld that would let a little oil come through and he replaced it no questions asked. You can read the post on the HMF forum. Go to the Open Forum section, you should see it under Hey what's up HMF post! Short of welding the mid pipe to the headpipe Ive done what I can do. Its either that or im selling it and buying a Yoshi system instead. I just thought that with a smaller company you'd get better customer attention with their product.

 

i wouldnt go with a yoshimura pipe on your yfz. I have the hmf too and it doesnt quite fit right. But there are so many other choices out there other than yoshimura.

 

CT is referred to as circus tent for a reason!!

 

I don't like them either. Had another BS experience with them last week.
