CT SUCKS
#21
If you were going to pay the dealer to jet it, why did it matter what instructions were given? The dealer should have been testing the exhaust gases with a meter anyway and getting the jetting perfect. All they really needed was a place to start and with some common sense you could devise a jetting spec regardless of what airbox setup was listed.
If you spend 500 bucks on a pipe and another 140 on a filter, and 5500 or more on a quad, you shouldnt be complaining about the price of rivets. The allen screws have a tendency to strip very easily. It takes very little time to drill out and replace a rivet. Ask anyone who has done any work with sheetmetal like on trailers or dirt track cars.
The raptor is almost twice the engine the warrior has. When you get a new pipe, that sucker is going to glow, colors will change, and the pipe will have to be broken in. Its the same with any other pipe that I've seen on a big bore quad, even some of the 400 class machines have the same issues. The coating on the pipe is going to change a little.
It's a real pain in the butt to get the raptor header in place, and it does come close to the airbox. Thats why there is the heat tape on the airbox, the design of the raptor means that the exhaust, even the stock, comes very close to the airbox. If you had done all of this yourself it would have been a lot easier for me to accept that you got a raw deal. But when a dealer is feeding you this information and you are just a messenger between them and ct, its a little harder for me to take in.
I'm sorry that you have had such a bad experience with ct. Regardless of the way I feel you will still see this as a horrible ordeal and will probably try to keep your fellow riders away from this company as well. I hope that you have a better experience with whatever company you deal with next time.
