Does anyone have any experience with the E-TON 4-Wheelers? I am considering one for my kid but I wanted to see if anyone hasd had one and how it has held up. Dealers in the Houston area?

My neighbors little boy has an ETON wheeler...I think they are 60 or 80cc....
Seems like a pretty realiable ride....My neighbor is new to the scene and is not beating it up that much...But he is out there every afternoon.... His boy is 9...which is young according to the recommendations, but he seems to do just fine. It has a speed limiter on it.
I even sat on it...Full suspension!!!! And it held me up just fine (165 lbs) .....My only problem was the cost of one....I know that if the machine does not get beat up that bad...resale should be good....but $2800(I think thats what they said) for a wheeler like that is steep....There is a fine line there..The Blaster is a good entry machine also, and not much more than the Eton....But just a bit too big for a youngster.
Either way...good luck. Merry X_mas

weedy,
The Western regional Distributor for Eton, (formerly Impulse) lives here in cen Az & he rides with his family at our local cycle park. I had an opportunity to ride one of the new DXL 90 quads recently & it was a blast! I took it on our intermediate mx track & it hauls! & is very stable in the turns due in part to the relatively good suspension and unique swing arm/frame assembly. As a 2 stroke, it has oil injection, electric start, lights, & even a horn. Eton also makes a 50cc Txl, but after riding both models I'd go withe the DXL90 so your boy could ride it till he was 12 yrs old
On the other hand, the man I mentioned has a 6yr old son who rides the 90 with no difficulty. I believe the price of the DXL is right at $2200, with th other models being 1 or 2 hundred less.
Eton has a new location in Dallas now;
E-TON America, (877) USA-ETON
ATVSport magazine has a pic on p. 13

Experienced dad here! Hotshoe is right on track accept that the 50cc is around 18 and tax, the 90cc around 22 and tax. My son has the 90cc and it is a super duper machine. No problems so far, great suspension (which we softened the fronts to the max setting) (non adjustable rear). The power is more than enough and we haven't yet removed the exhaust resister for more horses. One thing that I liked is the stability...it is a bit wider than the lt80 in the a-arms and rear axle. The tires are identical between machines. It even takes small hillclimbs with ease and that makes dear old dad relax a little. My son is also 9 and has a ton of room to grow into the quad. The 50cc has a teather cord for the parents to yank out from behind in case of a panic. Electric start is a real lifesaver and starts flawlessly even in the winter. The injection system works great and hardly ever needs filled. These things get a zillion miles per gallon.

I just gave my son (5) a Lt 80 for Christmas this year. In two days he has gone through about 2gal. of gas. If the E-TON is as good as the 80 you won't be dissapointed. This little 80 will easily get the front tires off of the ground and over the top, if you're not careful, even with 250# dad on it.
I paid $1750.00 for a '99 Suzuki Lt80. It was used in ASI safety classes. I still got a full warranty and the $200.00 of free stuff for buying a "new" quad. I considered the E-TON 90cc, but the dealer was so crappy that I turned away. They were asking $1950.00 + TTL. Good luck with your choices.

I've seen these little Chinese built quads and was impressed! A friend of mine works at a Yamaha dealer who sells them and said it beats the stuffings out of the Yamaha Badger. In 2 years they haven't seen any engine problems, just little stuff, one needed a shock absorber is all.
