Default URGENT!!! 1985 Honda 350X ATC (three wheeler) problems

JTM Motorsports

OK i have a 85 350X ATC that I am having problems with. I bought really cheap cause the rear axle carrier bearings were out and it bent the axle a little bit. I go tit running and its a blast but i was not able to use the axle sapcer inside the swingarm. If someone could tell me where i can get a new axle or if it is possible to fix the axle i would appreciate it. Also when riding the sand dunes in Louisiana i would start uphill and by the time i would reach thrid gear the engine would die. No sputtering or anything jsut slowly die. If i stayed in second or first i would be fine. Is this a crab/fule problem or an electrical problem. I also need help finding an exhaust for it as well any other upgrades would be nice. AS you may know it is very difficult to find stuff for 3-wheelers.

You can check on ebay for axels. There are usually a couple on there. As for the engine problems... it sounds like a jetting problem. Is there an aftermarket pipe on it? Did you check the petcock for any abstructions? It almost sounds like maybe either the float level it too low or you may have a way too fat of a jet in it. If the jet is way too fat, it might be sucking the fuel bowl completlely dry at wide open throttle. Same with the float level.

I have a few three wheelers and I wouldn't get rid of them for nothing. one thing you can try is when the engine dies it might be caused by the gas cap not venting. I have the same problem with mine 1st and 2nd gear no problem but when it came to third ,forget it. I would have to loosen the cap and then start over till it sucked enough gas to cause it to stall again
