Honda 400ex 416 breakin please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just installed a 416 piston and would like to know how to break it in. baby it around or beat it. I really need help im putting the engine in it today. Any help would be greatly apprciated.

i do a few heat cycles without riding then a little easy for a hour, but hitting some higher revs then i put it to them, enjoy the 416 it seems to work great.

Thanks alot so warm it up shut it off 2 or 3 times and then ride it moerately hard with revs and then it will be broken in?

yeah seems to work fine there is thread on here that says to just rev to the moon to start. you might want to read that one.

i agree, warm it up for several minutes and after it is warm, let it eat. this properly seats the rings for best compression. i change the oil after 30 minutes of riding or so.
