Default fuel starvation??

my bike started bogging or hesitating a couple of weeks ago. it started not running good after 1/4 throttle. i found if i turned the fuel petcock valve to reserve, the problem went away. now it is doing it all the time. my jetting is good, it ran great before this problem. i cleaned my gas tank, fuel petcock and the fuel tank breather hose. I also put a new fuel filter on. it seems like i am starving the bike of fuel some how. it was back firing some today. it does the exact same bog or hesitation every time i run out of fuel and have to put it on reserve. my bike ran great just 1 week ago, what do u think??

How much gunk was on the screen in the fuel tank petcock? It sounds like some of that may have gotten through and lodged in the needle valve. If it did then it's not letting enough fuel into the float bowl before you use it up. Maybe anyway??? worth a check just the same.

Make sure your vent tube isnt clogged up. It might not be a bad idea to pull the carb and check it out. Like eaglecollector said might be a piece of poo stuck in the needle and seat.

just take the fuel cap off and see if that fixs the problem, that will give a good clue on the vent tube.
