Default Throttle cable to carb attachment

I ported my intake today. I took my carb off, I never had before. When I took the side cover off the connection was nice & tight on the ball end & was kinda turnedto the right. Now that I got it back togetherIt kinda just sits in there with some play in it. The throttle still feels the same as far as pull. It's just the carb connection itself. Anyone ever notice this? Is it possible to come loose?
Thanks

You might just try and adust the slack out of it. That sounds like the problem, I like to have just about an 1/8 inch play in the cable itself.

Actually the throttle pulls feels the same. It's the weird connection that the cable fits into. It has slack in it's hole it slides into. Never noticed any play before diassembly.

Oh ok I see. Heck I would just clamp it back down or expand the nipple so it fits tighter. Might try some lock tite also.

no, it's not on the cable. The cable in the liitle "drum" fits fine. It's the drum in the slot that seems loose.

I wish I could explain this right!!!

Maybe it's the connector pin on the wobbleshaft?

are you saying that the ball on the end of the cable is loose in the hole it pivots in, on the carb's throttle lever under the cover? the hole has alot of play around the ball? if that is what you are saying, you must have lost the adapter. there is a tiny brass sleeve that fits around the ball on the cable and adapts it to the size of the hole on the carb's throttle lever - this may have been lost.

I have the brass sleeve in it. It seemed like it fit real tight when I took it apart. Now the brass sleeve fits a little loose in the in the hole. My quad works OK I guess, just wondering why it got loose. I'm sure I have it assembled right.
