stators and cdi for spark
#1
I own a 99 warrior with weak spark, I bin reading alot of stators and cdi units to find out witch 1 is the bad part, If i understand right, the stator sends power to the cdi witch sends it to the coil for the pulse power to plug,i get all that just a very weak spark,it does run but not very good, checked all conections with no results,i put the coil, plug and cap on a 04 raptor, the spark knocked me on my @ss it was so strong,so iam back to the cdi or the stator, basiclly, iam looking for a warrior guru to give some input on where to go from here before spending 300-400 to try to fix it.

Well You can test them with an OHMS meter but Whenever I did that with mine I kept getting mixed readings and it turned out my stator had gone bad anyway. So unfortunatly, the only other way to test them is to either buy a new cdi box and try it and if that doesn't work buy a new stator. Or try out your cdi box on another warrior if u can and see if it works and gets any better spark

So the cdi doesnt get its power from the battery,it gets it from the stator ,is this correct,i here how these guys push start there bike and it runs fine, well if the stator supplys the power for the cdi to fire to coil, how can it do that ,if the stator is bad? this is what is confusing me,and if the cdi gets power from battery, then why does it need the stator power,

It turns over and runs,it does have good spark, very weak spark,I have had problems before with it not starting while out in the middle of the woods, <when it wouldnt start,i turned it off,it didnt die> if that helps, from no spark,or if it has spark, its very weak,i mean my lawn mower has a better spark then this machine,i have it running now to gt it hot,to check the spark again, after i turn it off, bottom line is,i dont wantta get stranded in the woods again relying on others to ge me back, granted i ride in a pack, its nice to not have problems, it also misses a bit,i was trhinking it was from the spark not burning the fuel, kinda a long shot, but iam on this spark kick, for some reason<
