01 raptor tuneing after rejet

can you give me some advice on what i should do here, i just rejeted my 01 to 160-165 jets and i turned out the 2 screws on each carb 3 3/4 turns (screws on venturies? closest to engine boots) and it ran pretty well but it would stall after a minute or two idleing and the fuel was dumping out of the drain on atleast 1 carb so i took them apart bent the float tabs up "slightly" maybe 1mm and turned the screws in about 1/2 a turn
ran poor no draining
turned them in 2 more turns sounds like a harley and only idles w/ half throttle
turned them again out 6 times each...runs about the same
i think i should just start over and screw them in all way..but how far are they screwed out stock?
do those screws afect it that much or is the floats bent too much so they are restricting gas flow
