I have a 2001 4 x 2 Bear Cat that is having electric starter problems. The starter will not shut off even after I pull out key....the motor continues to try to turn on engine (it fails). The problem started after I charged the battery and cleaned the carb. I have to pull battery to shut starter motor down.

 

Nats; Your starter solenoid is sticking in the on position probaly. Usually juut tapping it with the plastic handle of a screw driver will unstick it each time it sticks. You need to change it out if the tapping trickis the fix to the problem. Could also be a bad start relay but I'd check the solenoid first.
