need help/info starter issues

Default need help/info starter issues

I have a 98 big bear 350 4x4 when the start button Is pushed the oil comes on and the starter justed spins anyideas please and thank

Sounds like you need a new starter. Are you able to start it by using the pull start?

Yes it will start with the pull start I pulled the starter and it kicks on with a set of jumper cables to the point I can bearly hold on to it

Might need a new starter but also check the gear that the starter engages inside the crankcase to see if there are broken teeth. That would make it do the same thing.

Wow, that's a pretty expensive part. I bet there are a lot of older quads that are pull-start only because of that.

If I look in the starter hole the is no gear that I can see

Should be able to see the top of a gear that the starter engages. If that gear is not there, than that's your issue and you'll need to get a new starter clutch flywheel.
