It's a youth model equipped with racks and Grizzly bodywork. I wouldn't be suprised if they took all the features from the Breeze and slapped Grizz-like plastic and racks on it.

The Grizzly 125 came out in '04. I bought one for my 9 year old daughter. She has had it for 1 1/2 months and has been ridden about 125 miles. So far no problems other than that it is a little cold blooded. You need to choke it when you start it. I guess it is like my Kawi P650 in that regard. It is a Breeze w/ new plastic and better headlights. It is fairly powerful, for a little quad. I weigh 195 lbs and it can move me along w/ no problem. However, racks are limited to around 11 lbs. Also, no hitch. The Grizzly 125 is not a utility quad in anyway. It is a good beginner quad, nothing more.

No. They are a mild tube steel, painted black, like the big Grizzly. The "listed" rack capacity is 11 lbs for the front racks and 22 lbs for the back racks. I am sure they can hold more, but that is what Yamaha lists as their capacity. This is definetely not a quad for two up riding..

We looked at the Grizzly recently and we came to the conclusion that the Grizzly 125 is overpriced when you compare it to the 250 class machines.

The Kawasaki Bayou 250, which is the least expensive 250 class utility ATV has a MSRP of $2999 while the Grizzly 125 has an MSRP of 3099 to 3299 according to Yamaha's website.

The Bayou has almost double the engine size, much more cargo carrying capacity, and yet it has only slightly larger dimensions than the Grizzly 125, so your kid should be able to fit on the Bayou 250 if they can fit on the Grizzly 125.

Why pay more for less? Forget the Grizzly 125 and buy one of the 250 class machines.
