HRC kit installation cost (TRX-450R) 05
#1
Hi just wanted to bounce a question off you guys, I called my dealer for an estimate on HRC kit installation on a trx-450r and he said $300-350. So i decided to check around and called the next nearest dealer and they told me their mechanic can install it in 1.5 hours ( because he has done so many) and they charge an hourly rate of $49.95......................LOL is that even real? Let me know what you guys think.

The first was just labor LOL!. The parts in it are Camshaft, Spark Arrester, Airbox Cover, Intake Snorkel, Main Jet, Slow Jet, Needle Jet. The last is also the labor cost.

Just called another dealer and they said they would do it for $150. So I guess the one who''ll do it for $90 isn't to off base. My local who said $300-350 sounds like a rip off artist LOL.

When I bought my 450R I wastold $300.00 for parts and $300.00 labor. I didn't go for it. If I could get it done, parts included, for $300.00 I'd do it!

dude, i could install that kit in 1.5 hours easy. u loosen 3 bolts on the exhaust, pull out the baffling, then put the 3 bolts back in. a 3 min. job. carb re-jet, if i have the correct parts then i can have that done in 20-30 min. the longest part is replacing the cam, but even that isn't difficult. then you just snap off the old airbox lid, put the new one on, loosen a hose clap and romove the intake snorkel, and put the new one in and tighten up. i pulled out my baffling, cut a hole in my airbox lid, and re-jetted my carb in an hour. that's with a trip to the shop cuz i didn't have the right size jet. i didn't wanna spend the money on the kit so i added a high flow air filter, and removed the intake snorkel (you don't need it anyway). the only thing i'm missin is the cam, so i'm gonna wait til Honda starts selling replacement parts for the HRC kit and get it then.
