wow...i just bough an engine!

my ds is being a POS lately (parts breaking all over) and my current list for stock parts was going to be around 350.... and i saw a bottom end sell on ebay the other day for only 305! (including hte parts i needed)
i saw this just a few minutes ago and it has a rwr 12:1 in it, with about 50 hours on it (its an 01 engine)
so for 610 i get the entire engine, carb, manifolds, a CF sprocket cover, intake, starter and all (no wiring but i dont need that anyway)
if i dont make a project out of this iw as thinking of making it a forum parts engine.... (instead of spending some outrageuous amount for a stock part, i would part this out for cheap to anyone who needs stuff) Still havnt contacted the guy so we'll see what happens.
ive never made a purchase this large on ebay before so hopefully everything goes ok....

i see this is a good thing and a possible bad thing.... i wont have a problem tearing into this thing to see what the internals of the ds are like, which might lead me to bigger and better things.... hmm i smell big bore
is the rwr 12:1 a decent piston? is it worth swapping? (or maybe i should just transplant engines?) i read some stuff about rwrs current rings that actually rob HP... the 12:1 can be run on pump gas right (ie ..93 octane) if its not worth my time i may skip it... (maybe eventually get the JE 12:1 or the 11:1 whatever it is and a set of mild cams)

I saw that on ebay, you got a great deal my friend. You will need to run race gas with that 12 to 1, well a 50/50 mix any way. Also with 12 to 1 you could experment with Alky It don't take that long to swap an engine, try it and see if you like it, if not take the parts off it you need, and put them in yours. Looks like a win-win situation... IF you don't want to mess with it bring it over, I'll swap the motors for ya..
