Did the Price Lake and Dow Mountain area on friday with 2 buddies. We covered just under 30 miles cause Jim had to be back at noon. Saw deer and grouse and a bunch of bear sign. Saw some beautiful country and got up above 2400 feet. Couldn't see very far cause of the haze. Did run in to several logging operation that kept us from reaching the top of Dow Mountain. It isn't all that high(3200ft) anyway, really only a foot hill for the southern peaks of the Olympic Mountains.
Today, sunday went scouting for deer with a hunting buddy in the local area. Covered 58+ miles, starting from my house and heading SE along the ridge over looking Hood Canal and then the valleys on the SW side of the ridge. Saw lots of deer sign but no animails but then again we left the house just before 10AM so most were bedded down by then cause the sun came out early today. Will do more looking during the week until Oct. 16th when early deer seasons opens. Only ran into 3 other people so traffic wasn't an issue.

They were great rides. And I used the GPS so I can get back to everyplace we thought might be good.
