2005 250 4x4 Sport-Utility Performance
#1
If you haven't heard the rumors generating from this forum already, there is reason to believe that Honda will unveil some sort of new 250 4x4 sport-utility at the dealer show tomorrow night in Nashville. I'm very interested in this machine and if it really does perform well in tests, may consider giving up the old Rubi to get one of these things. We already know it can't have one of those hyped-up CRF250 engines in it because the longevity of the engine is not substantial at all. So that raises my main question: how well can a 250 4-stroke sport-utility really perform? I'll only get a new machine if it will be more fun on the trails than my Rubicon with a Warn 424. I'm having trouble picturing this thing in my mind. Racks or no racks? Semi-auto or auto? Top speed? MSRP? I know I should just stop this speculation because the release is only tomorrow night, but patience has never been one of my virtues

i wish someone would put a manual clutch in a utility...would kind of make it a true sport utility if everything else performed well...im picturing a 4x4 recon...lol...it would be cool if they put a engine with more power though..

dirt wheels pretty much confirmed it will not have hondas normal pushrod motor and it will be a new higher perfomance motor than any thing they have in a ute now and is liquid cooled and is very light weight

I don't wanna wait!!! Just kiddin, but seriously I wouldn't doubt that Honda could build a great new concept engine. I would love it especially if they mated it to the Hondamatic. However at the same time, I ask myself.............WHY A 250!? I would say at least build a sweet 350. The weight difference between a 250 and 350 can't be that great.
