Default Those with airfilters on the back of Mojave carbs. HELP!

I got one. It fits the carb fine. But there's not a big enuf lip on the rear of the carb to hold it on. It keeps popping off as soon as I try to tighten the clamp.

How do you get the filter to stay with only 3/16 of metal there to hold it on?

Hey

Try this. Clean the filter and carb with brake kleen or any cleaner and then install and do not over tighten clamp. May need to get a thinner clamp.

I tried that. Didn't stay on.

I took the carb off and to the neighbor and he ground a lip on the carb with a dremel.

Seems to be staying on ok now.

i had that problem too. you gotta roughen up the surface which you did and make sure it is absoulutly dry. i got a mikuni 36mm rs and it has about a 1.5 in lip so mine stays on and i don't have to mod the filter even though i have a dial-a-jet which i love
