Default Oil Capacity for a Suzuki LT-80 Quad

Hi:
I have a LT-80, about 1985-1990 I would guess and I drained the oil but I don't know how much to put back in. I can find a nice web page that shows me parts but it doesn't give me the oil capacity. Anybody know how much oil this thing needs?
Thanks

Oh-Kay.......

The LT80 is a 2-cycle. Being this, there is no crankcase oil, all the oil is mixed in with the fuel. Lift up the seat, find the oil tank under it and fill it with 2-cycle oil.

If you can't find the tank, it may be that your LT has been modified to use pre-mix in the fuel tank. Stock LT80's have an oil injection system that pumps oil from the oil tank into the fuel. One tank of oil will last for several tanks of gas.

Can't quite figure out just what you did drain???

I don't know much about the LT80s but I'm assuming they must have some oil in the transmission .This must be what was drained out.

Hi:
Thanks for the response.
I've ridden 2-strokes and 4-strokes for years and every 2-stroke I have had came with a crankcase with oil in it. Something has to lube the gears. I'm just looking for the number of cc's of oil I need to put in. You should go out to the garage and check your motorcycles. If you are running without crankcase oil you are headed for trouble.
Good Luck, Mike 56

Mike, it is trans. oil/gear oil you drained. Suzuki recommends using 20W40 SAE motor oil. capacity is 80ml, or 2.8 ounces. you remove the Phillips screw/hex bolt when re-filling. when oil starts to come out that hole, you're at the correct level. it's just below the fill bolt, right rear area, near front of chain.

Adding the tranny oil can be a pain, I use a syringe with surgical tubing to get it into the small little hole.

Quadduck: I was trying to figure out how to get the oil in the hole. Thanks for the suggestion. A previous response said the LT80 needed 80cc of oil. Someone else said fill til it comes out the oil level hole. I think I'll use the oil level hole method.
Thanks, mike56

I should have used the term "transmission" and not "crankcase". Sorry about causing confusion.

ya, it is a pain getting it in there. i have a small funnel on a flexible clear fuel line, same trick. or, the funnel will go in the hole, but it's in a tricky spot.
