Bombardier Outlander 800 Next Spring
#1
I talked to a dealer a while ago, he said to expect an Outlander 800 by April/May of next year. The engine wil be based on the V-Twin 1000 out of their snowmobiles, with EFI, and a weight around 620 lbs. They have developed a SST frame that can handle the extra weight and torque of the big mill, and judging by Bombi's recent technologcal developments, this could be a ringer for top spot in the open class 4X4. Even though I love my Grizz and drive the hell out of it without a single breakdown, I am due for a trade in next spring and it may be to BRP. They build incredibly reliable machines with 3 year warranty (hell even Deere put their badge on them), and if Yamaha will not update the Grizz for '05 (my dealer said its because they are still the top selling open 4x4, no reason to change), I think its time to jump ship. I don't feel that Yamaha should do this, becasue they will lose customers to competing brands by not coming out with bigger and better products for their customers. I've ridden my Grizz for 2 years, and familiar with it, and love it. But when I buy a new quad, I want a few surprises, a few updates, something that is a little more exciting than my last quad. There is no question of Yamaha's reliability, I palce them above Honda over the last few years; but BRP are above even Yamaha because of the STANDARD 3 year warranty. Hard to argue with that. Anyone have an opinion on this?
