Will i run to lean or rich?

That's tough to answer, and I will tell you why:
99.9% of the time you will be fine because most engines are jetted a bit rich from the factory. Now lets say you are a sea level and it's a nice cool day with lots of 02 in the air and you are jetted a bit on the lean side to begin with............... your going to be picking aluminum out of your exhaust port.........you get my point.
Here is a down and dirty way to know if you are rich or lean. I your engine starts without a choke when it is cold, your fine and quite a bit rich. If you start it up and it idles rough or dies without a choke, then you are right there on mixture. If you need to choke it for a long time after startup then you are lean to begin with.
All in all, I would yank the baffle and have fun. Keep an eye on your plug and you'll be fine.
And all this crap about burning valves and all of that; it's just that, crap.

60 degrees is one thing, but when its 30 it will be a different story. And it gets a lot colder than that up in NY. If you arent choking it a lot, its not backfiring and the plug looks good then you should be ok. You can always tweak the pilot a little too.
Doc, glad to see you around and still helping on jetting issues.
