Default TRX450r Power up question

I jsut bought a 04 450r and (been 2 years since i sold the 250r) had the dealer order the powere up kit with the quad the dealer is going to put the kit in. My question is about the snorkel tube in the kit what is the difference to the stock one why change. I will be riding this quad on wooded trails and might transverse shallow and or mud water (6 inchs or less) and do not want to worry about this thing sucking water from being splashed up towards the air box. (is the stock tube like the 400ex and 250r where it runs up to the front of the quad). I quess I just want to know what the difference is or can I just run the factore tube. I dont have the quad till friday to see for myself.

Thanks fro your replies
Collin.

The kit includes an airbox lid, that is pretty much wide open! If you are going to run a solid lid, you are going to have to get all your air through the snorkle, so your power is going to suffer, probably big time! You are going to need the biggest snorkle possible.

I run a lid with a water repellent Outerwears (http://www.ehsracing.com/), but that's water repellent, not waterproof.

I would use everything in the kit. It is disigned to all work together. I have gone through many water holes and have yet to suck any water with the HRC kit. The HRC tube is bigger than the stock one and will let in more air, but not more water than the stock one.
