Default 2002 Honda Electrical Problems

Here are the symptoms (2002 Honda TRX350 2X4 and 4X4)....

1) Engine Quits...Check into it, main fuse start to blow!
2) Replace Main fuse, doesn't even start, when we pull start the fuse blows again!
3) No display, no electric start, no green light, absolutely dead.
4) We do a bit of bypassing wires and fuse holders, get the engine going.
5) travel a few yards and the regulator is gone. Engine dies again, no spark

What is the problem with these 350s, constant electrical trouble. It's not a matter of "if" they die, it's when they will die.

Need help, prime ATVing for big bulls coming up and fast!

Sincerely appreciated, EskimoInuk

You have a short in the electrical system. Check for pinched ro frayed wires and fix the short.

Action 450s, I was taking a look at your Foreman and I noticed your back tires are mounted backwards. I'm assuming you have them that way on purpose...do they get better traction that way? Just curious. By the way ATV looks awesome.

You are the first I have heard of with these problems, I too would say you have a short. I had an 01 rancher for 2 years and it went through hell and back. Only problem I ever had was frozen choke cable.

I'll strip the ATV and go over each wire. When we bypass the fuse, and run the engine till it quits again, that usually means something is fried. Is it safe to assume that it is only the regulator that is toast?

Thanks.
