excessive tire spin on loose terrain
#1
Im getting tons of tire spin in loose terrain, ride lots of trails and riverbeds. Im about 200 lbs and even with 22inch realitors on the back when I go to the river in the sand all I can do is roost, I sit clear back on the seat and can never get any bite. Any suspension ideas. The rear is set a little stiffer than factory and the front is factory. If I loosen up the rear I should get more weight transfer to the back and better traction right? Also should I adjust the preload or just the gas? Any help would be great.

Well Im not quite sure how to break it too ya but I think that thats always going to be a problem to a point when riding in the loose stuff, But Ill try to help ya anyways. I dont know what the realators look like or how stiff they are but that can have alott to do with it. Why dont ya try to lower the pressure a in the tires as far as that goes WHAT pressure do ya run right now?
DONT mess with the suspension to get more grip , thats just going to make more problems for ya.

The only way to get tires to hook up in sand is with paddles. That is great in the dunes, but down in a river you will most likely tear them up on rocks and such. Yes, making the rear as soft as possible will help with weight transfer and traction, but that only helps at launch, and under hard acceleration.

I got my realitors through a local tire distributor, (friend works there). I'll try and dump some more air out of the rears and see if that helps, only problem is the Realitors are so stiff it seems like you could almost run them flat with no problems, so not sure how much diff a few lbs will make but anything is worth a try. Might just have to make them my snow tires and find something else. They do work great for snow but for hard pack and on wet grass they suck. Thanks for the help guys
