rear brake scare
#1
The rear brake on my 500 is the new hydraulic setup. While still not fantastic (and admittedly brandy new) it is a far cry better than the cable rear brake AC that I test rode... It still won't lock up the rear wheels, but it will drag them hard.
went out riding last night and about an hour in realize that the foot lever isn't working right, goes down hard, doesn't come all the way up. Brake light on constantly... Other than that the brakes are working (hand lever) and don't feel like they are dragging, so I ride on and just don't use the foot lever. When I get back I go looking for the problem totally expecting to find something hanging, or bent. It would be my luck- fortunately I was using someone else's luck last night because I found a piece of 3/4" stone wedged between the linkage and the frame. It was so perfectly shaped as to appear stock, fit so well it took 10 minutes to dislodge, not really sure how it got in there in the first place...
