Supertrapp IDS2 full system on a 2001 Lakota Sport is leaking air where the mid-pipe connects to the silencer where it's clamped is where the leak is happening, now all clamps are snug tight, Kawasaki dealer installed it, and the service guy said with aftermarket exhaust you will come across this kind of leak, he said dont worry it will carbon up in time, there's no backfiring and the Quad is running awesome, thanks in advance for some input.

Go down to your local parts store and get some Ultra Copper silicone,it's made for hight temps. This will work real well in that spot but I've not had luck using it up at the motor.

 

Would I have to take it apart? Or just seal around it where it is clamped? Thanks

 

You will have to pull it apart or it won't work very well.

 

USE THE SILICONE AND IT WILL ALSO CARBON UP....MY FMF WAS THE SAME WAY EVEN USING THE SILICONE WHILE IT WAS BEING ASSEMBLED.

 

hey hippyhunter did it carbon up? or what did you do to fix? Is it really a big deal?
