I havent had this quad but maybe a month and already have a problem. It has been running great up until now. I went to start it and it was running good then all of a sudden it started to kinda bog down and wanna die in about 3rd gear. I had to downshift to keep it running. Then it finally died. I figured i was outta gas so i switched over to reserve and made it a little farther and it finally died and that was it. It would backfire a little too. I put fresh gas in it and that didnt help. When i push the starter every now and then it will try to fire but wont. It turns over fine and all my dash lights work. The quad is all stock. What could be the problem? Hope it isnt serious.

Get the easy things out of the way. Clean your air filter and change your spark plug.

 

I'd check if you were getting a spark... if you weren't maybe the coil went out... or even worse possibly the stator...

 

clean the carb...............

 

ohh yeah clean the carb and check for spark

 

Did the same to me I later found dirt in carb. clean carb !

 

Yea...These guys got it. You might have a gunk in your carb, if so get that stuff callled "GUNK", nothing works better. But also check your spark. Might not be able to keep a good enough spark to run.

 

clean the fuel petcock and the carb. that has been most of everybodies problems when the Z wont start or run
