400ex mods

Default 400ex mods

hey guys
i have a 400ex with the mods u can see in my sig. i have to put back on the stock pipe because of complaints of my quad being ot loud. i dont want to **** off the neighbors so i figured id put bakc on the stocker. about how much power will i loose? and if theres any other mods i can do to the 400 to make up for the power loss besides boring it out, please let me know. thanks

Default 400ex mods

remove your airbox lid, grind welds from stock headpipe, remove choke plate.
re-jet accordingly.......

Boring it and other mods really isn't going to help with a pipe to let it breath. There is pipes out there that have good airflow but is still quiet. I think reconranger has the FMF Q and he said it was pretty quiet

what do you mean by grinding the welds from stock headpipe? Can you please explain? And is it hard to removed the choke plate? BTW, what is that plate after the slide that opens with the slide?

Honda headpipes have big welds on the inside holding the collar on.
If you grind them out it will breathe a little better.
This is not a big gain, but it is a free gain.
I set up mine to be a sleeper.
