does anybody kno where to get performance parts for an 86atc250SX like jet kits exhaust pipes etc..

 

jet kits don't exist, you can order individual jets. a dial a jet is also available( I've never tried it) the only exhaust I have seen is Cobra. I've seen cams at the link to follow. they make pistons and I have heard of some getting 350x carbs.

thanx man ive heard of the cobra pipe and i saw a 300 piton kit for the SX but i dident kno about the cam so i checked it out and found out they made valve springs so thats cool so if i put all this gear into the bike will i have to beef up the rear end or the bottom end of the motor ?

 

thats unfortunatly somewthing I don't know. my big red is stock(same motor). I don't think theres much you can use to beef up the bottom end. unless you were running crazy compression I wouldn;t see it being neccasary. Same thing for the rear end. You will be limited with what you can do with the 250sx because of the rear end, its strong and shaft driven but is geared low (my big red s lower still).

I have heard a trx300 swingarm will fit for a plus 4 or 6 inch swing arm and probably has different gearing.

thanks for all the info but what trx300 are u talking about the 4 wheel drive fourtrax?and isnt it the same motor in my SX thats in ur big red ?

 

my uderstanding is it is not the same motor. I assume the jug is defferent at the least but I have been told they aren't. As for the swingarm myself

ok thanx for the info again but i dont think im going to be too worried about getting that style rear end unless mine blows up or something lol ,what do u mean by race cut platics ? for ur big red are they aftermarket or did u do it yourself?

 

the race cuts are on my scrambler. the big red is basically stock. It has a new snorkel on the air box and it has a cobra exhaust pipe.
