Question: What Gear do you wear for cool/cold weather riding? Snow or Rain or clear days...

examples

1. Winter coat & Jeans
2. Ski apparel
3. Hunting Gear
4. Goretex Rain/wind jacket & pants

Leather is good but we do not have really harsh winters in S.E. Georgia

 

Well if this winter is like last winter, maybe long pants. A balaclava for the head, normal riding boots, long underwear, jeans, sweatshirt, gloves and an old field jacket (helmet, but that goes without saying).

 

I use my military stuff; however, I am entertaining a SKI patrol/rescue set of overalls...

up here i use snow mobile stuff(pants jacket gloves belclava, boots) it gets real cold doing 70 mph on ice at -40 with an open motocross helmut

 

Hi Goretex or other rain proof outer layer. Synthetic ( polypro ) under layers. Good gloves and warm boots. On the really cold days I use the hand/body warmers that use fuel sticks to keep me warm. One in the breast pocket and one in the pants does the trick ...they last for 10 hours before they need more fuel.

Hey Lowend5. I am in the Canadian army. We are issued Goretex bib overalls that have full length zippers in each leg and are insulated very well inside. They are wicked for cold weather. You have the zippers to ventilate and to get them over your boots. They are waterproof , and very warm. I think a high end pair of skidoo style overalls would be perfect for winter riding.

 

glad you asked cause I was wondering the same thing. I plan on probably buying a snowmobile style coat and maybe the bibs. I am going to use my atv to plow driveways this year so I want to wear something warm.

you cant realy appreciate winter unless your doing a 60 mph spin on ice. i tell ya, that will fill your shorts
