What kind of winter gear do you wear?
Okay Guys! Thanks for the replies! Good info!
We've covered the Winter Scene....
How about those 40-60 degree days where it is overcast and a sprinkle of rain moves through occasionally?
What then? a thin $300 goretex coat and $200 pants?
I know this topic is a bit lame, but I am sure there are others out there on the forum that have thought about this at some point...
Thanks for your replies!
Keep em coming!

Hmm, for riding?
Columbia gore-tex ultralight parka, gore-tex pants, flannel shirt, jeans, longjohns, wool neckwrap, wool head cover designed to fit in a helmet, good gore-tex waterproof boots. A good pair of gloves to top it off... 3 finger mittens if it's really cold out... with a trigger finger hole for the hunting seasons.
But, this high in the Rockies, you gotta be ready for anything when out in winter. The main thing is stuff that is still warm even if it gets soaked. Wool, gore-tex, and hollo-fil are good choices. Cotton next to the skin helps dry your skin faster when you sweat, but the wool on the outside holds the heat in.

No matter whats underneath-your body to layers and layers of what ever. A thin all nylon windbreaker is the most essential item. Dead of winter to keep the wind out of the layers of cotton or wool or what ever underneath. Spring rain stays out. This past summer I left for a ride on an 80* day to find the day of the ride in low 60s. Windbreaker warm enough. Packs tight-out of sight. Brush slides past. And best of all when your hossing your atv, hose your trusty friend (windbreaker) for another day.
