Default Running with the front tires on backward?

Is anyone tried to run the front tires backward? I bring this up because i use to have an Terra Tiger 6x6 and we use to run the front two tires backward and the back four run correctly, this would help you get unsuck in deep mud. Just seeing if anyone has tried this.

I run my rear tires backwards when i hit the dunes or snow...just because when the tires are backwords they work like paddles...I guess it depends on tread pattern....some tread patterns work good one way for one thing and the other way for other things.

Would turning the stock 489s around on a sportsman help in the winter?
