Anyone have a winch on a Scrambler 500 4x4?
#2
A guy at the cliffs in illinois had one in the front. I have been looking into getting one so I checked it out. Looks Great! He said he ordered it special from North Dakota. I thought the website he gave me was Beamco.com, but that doesn't look like the right one It was a kit that replaces the front bumper and the winch mounts behind the new one. It was just a little further out in front, but only like an inch or two. He had it on his 2004 scrambler 500, he was pulling his bud out of the stream, He also had a 2004 scrambler, He thought the stream was shallow there but it was over the seat. We got it out and drained the clutch housing and air box and it eventualy started up and ran fine.
That winch did look sweet on the front!
I think I have seen them somewhere else but can't seem to find then on the usual store sites I goto.

Any way you can find out that "special" place in N.D. ? Im also looking to getting one. Installing one behind a new front bumper sounds like a good idea. If you find out any info. Let us now !! Thanks , man.

ya warn makes the 1.5 and u could prolly make a mount for it if u have basic welding skills or u could have a local welding shop make it for u. and as to the winch that replaces the front bumper purepolaris sells them. but at 500 some bucks its not cheap. i belive its the warn 2.5 that comes iwht it

I came across a guy on the trail a while back that had his Scrambler 500 4x4 set up with a winch mount in the front and the rear sort of like the "multi-mount" product. He had purchased a small receiver trailer hitch at Walmart for $9.00, had a piece of sheet metal welded to it, and used u-bolts to attach one to the frame in the front of his Scrambler, and another one in the rear. His winch had the other piece of the receiver mounted to it. this way he could move the winch from front to rear, or leave it at home if he wanted. He said the Scrambler handled much better with the weight of the winch in the rear, so this is where he rode with it most of the time.
Good luck,

I've go a Cycle Country winch mount that goes for about $100 from them. I got it from Denis Kirk for $20. It mounts to the top of the stock bumper just in front of the front plastic. Check out my pics of this setup.
